Feast day: September 21
Patron: tax officials and bankers
Matthew, former tax collector and author of the Gospel of Matthew. Matthew’s Gospel is known for documenting Jesus' genealogy and shinning light on all the Old Testement prophecies Jesus fulfilled.
The Hail Mary beads are a translucent brown color each a little different with some pretty spectacular quirks that shine through. These beads remind me so much of Matthew, of his change of heart from collecting worldly goods, to heavenly one's. The transparency of how he was able to let Jesus shine through him, and all the little quirks of the beads and how they are not a mistake, but a beauty used to draw others to the ultimate beauty, God.
I wanted to keep the gold accents as a reminder of God can make glory out of our past and no one is counted out. Through Christ our bad is redeemed. Nothing is wasted.
The black Our Father beads focus on the new strength Matthew found in Jesus.
The white Our Father beads point to the light Matthew shined on the Old Testement that lead to the New Testment.
